Greenhorns x Resurgence II is a collaborative effort between Dumaguete Street Dance Community, Dos Centavos, and Dumaghetto Raw to create an avenue for the rising dance battlers in Dumaguete City.
This gathering took place at Sidlakan, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental on August 12-13, 2023. A 2-day gathering consisting of Krump, Open Style, and Breaking battles.
There was a need to create a welcoming platform for upcoming breakers and further encourage growth and immersion, while giving tribute to Hip Hop Month. At the same time, Dumaghetto Raw was looking to pull off the second leg of their running Resurgence Krump Battle Series. The people in the street dance community made this celebration possible.
I served as co-head organizer along with Miles "Malice, Neo Grief, Young Titan" Amar and as event brand designer for this event. It was an honor to create an opportunity for the talented dancers in Dumaguete. It is a privilege to help make avenues for local breakers to explore. And a pleasure to witness everyone sharing their energy.
The success of this event is a testament to the love everyone has for dance and the culture.
